Bio
26 year old Shiri Maimon is nothing short of a true Israeli diva, capable of performing a wide range of musical genres, from soul to pop and dance, and was discovered by the Israeli public, who voted for her week after week and brought her to the finale of the first season of “Kochav Nolad” (‘A Star is Born’), the Israeli equivalent of ‘American Idol’, back in 2003.
Not even a decade later, and Shiri has found international success, after representing Israel at the Eurovision Song Contest, a musical competition held around Europe every year. Her stunning performance with the song “Time to Say Goodbye”, taken from her debut album, brought Israel to the #4 spot (out of 35 countries), the highest score Israel has reached in 2 decades.
In 2008 she was chosen again by the Israeli public to compete on MTV Europe “Best European Act”, in which she reached 3rd place, again with a powerful performance of “Now that You’re Gone.”
Early in 2010, she was chosen by “Keren Hayesod” to be its formal representative in the 90th anniversary celebrations, which will take place in formal events in Latin America & Europe. Right before taking off on the tour, Shiri launched a joint concert with Shimon Buskila, a well known & established “Mediterranean” song writer and singer, whose unique voice together with Shiri’s remarkable voice, gave Shiri’s audience an opportunity to discover a new and exciting layer of her voice. In only one year, the collaboration became one of Israel’s most famous and talked about concert, with over 150 shows all over Israel.
Over the years Shiri has managed to establish a reputation as a stylish and savvy performer, with a superb vocal range, currently working on her 3rd solo album in Israel, as well as recording her debut International album in America.
