Carmit Bachar is Back in Business

Nov 07 2011

Former member of the all-girl American group ‘Pussycat Dolls,’ Carmit Bachar, is making her move back into the center of LA’s club scene, this time as a duo, with producer Sammy Jay. Together they go by ‘Lady Station.’

Bachar, daughter of the legendary Israeli folk dancing choreographer Schlomo Bachar, seems to have been there at almost every milestone of American pop history in the last 2 decades: When Beyonce shot the music video for her solo debut mega-hit ‘Crazy in Love’ – She was dancing behind her; When Ricky Martin sang ‘Living La Vida Loca’- she was the official “Loca Girl”; When late singer Aaliyah, shot a video for her ‘Rock the Boat’ hit and died in a plane crash on her way back, Carmit was among the staff who didn’t go on that plane; When ‘Pussycat Dolls’ became an overnight success and were nominated for a Grammy – She was part of the group. But now Carmit knows it’s about time to do her own thing.

“[Sammy Jay and I] were introduced by a mutual friend,” Carmit tells ABBANIBI, “the idea being that Sammy would do a remix of one of my songs. We clicked instantly and decided to do a song together. One song turned into an entire project! And LadyStation was born!”

What’s next for Lady Station?

“EP, appearances and collaborations with a few other artists and producers.”

Good Luck Carmit! We’ll be following!
