Eric Himan Wants to Break Free

Jul 25 2012

Oklahoma, here we come! There’s a new Freddie Mercury in town! Rock-boy Eric Heiman is paying tribute to the legendary Queen in a special  night in Tulsa described as a celebration of rock’s most epic bands in history. “Queen is very iconic and not just anybody does a show like this,” Erik tells Abbanibi.com,  “I thought it was super challenging and I knew I had the right people to make it the best it could be”

When he says ‘the right people’ he basically means Noah E. Spiegel the director of production at Tulsa Opera, who produced all-time Queen  favorites like “We Are The Champions” and  “I Want To Break Free” in a very unique way and designed both for a sit down and a proper listen, or to sing-a-long. “I Met Noah earlier this year through working with the Tulsa Pride organization,” as Heiman explains the connection between the two. ” I asked him with his Opera experience if he wanted to help out with this”. Spiegel also brought a few members of the Tulsa Opera choir for a special guest appearance in ‘Bohemian Rapsody’ (and more).

Sounds interesting? Check this out if you’re in the area, Saturday, July 28th LIVE at Club Majestic (124 N. Boston Ave.). Show starts at 10pm. You can hear a sneak peek performance on DOMK! Friday, July 27th at 8:30am on Tulsa’s rock station, KMOD

Finally, we asked Eric about Adam Lambert & Queen’s latest collaboration. “I haven’t heard Adam with Queen yet so I have nothing to compare it too,” Heiman replies. “But anyone who steps up to perform their music  gets my full respect!”

Tickets for ‘Queen Rocks!’ are available NOW! at Sweet Tooth Candy Shop (3747 S. Harvard), day of show at Club Majestic (124 N. Boston Ave), and online at www.erichiman.com.  Limited amount of tickets based on capacity of venue.
