May 15 2012

Gilad Shalit , the famous soldier who was held hostage in Gaza for over 5 years until his release last year, paid a visit to the set of ‘Homeland,’ which is currently being shot in Jaffa (Tel Aviv), and met with actress Claire Danes, and co- creator and executive producer  Gidi Raff.

The TV show, which deals with people who came back from captivity holding secrets, went on air while Shalit himself was still in captivity, and creators claim that he was part of an inspiration to make the original Israeli series upon which ‘Homeland’ is based. During Shalit’s visit on the set, he was accompanied by family members and a few news crews. He revealed that after coming home he caught up with the first season of the show and really liked it.
