Lior Suchard : Surprising Barbra Streisand
Famous mentalist Lior Suchard was on the cover of the Israeli entertainment magazine Pnai Plus this week, and in the interview he exclusively revealed that he was the special surprise at the 70th birthday party of Barbra Streisand that took place earlier this month. “I arrived at a Greek restaurant in Malibu,” Suchard recalls, “there were probably a hundred paparazzi photographers waiting outside but nobody recognized me which was fun. She didn’t know I was coming, even though she wanted me to, but her manager told her I couldn’t come.”
“So I come in and my eyes are moving from Steven Spielberg to John Travolta, to Pierce Brosnan, to Warren Beatty. She was so glad I came. I’ve known her for two weeks and she already told all of her friends about me,” Suchard says. “There’s a magic to it. This is a mythological woman to me. It’s not like meeting Seinfeld.”
With his wedding coming in August, Suchard was asked in the interview if he will crush a glass, like in the Jewish tradition, but without touching it- only with the power of his mind. “I don’t think the Rabbi allows that,” he laughs, “but it happened a couple of times during my show. I held a bottle of Coca-Cola by its top, and it suddenly exploded, so theoretically I believe I can do it, but I promise I’ll try for the next interview…”
