Natalie Portman is in Israel
Israel media reports today that Academy Award winner, Natalie Portman, has been traveling in the holy land for the past few days, supposedly celebrating the remainder of the holiday season in the country’s capital. Portman has arrived with her longtime fiance, ballet dancer and “Black Swan” co-star Benjamin Millepied, and the couple’s six months old son Aleph.
Portman, 30, was born in Jerusalem and was raised there till the age of 3, and despite stating that she has no intentions to exercise her legal right to vote, Israeli matters have always been on her agenda, even writing about political issues in her alma mater newspaper “The Harvard Crimson”. She made several trips back, including a lengthy stay in 2004, taking graduate courses at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. It was around that time she filmed the Israeli film “Free Zone” and was also dating Israeli actor Liron Levo.
When returning for another visit the following year Portman was stunned at paparazzi who were lurking the actress at Ben Gurion International Airport and later went on to express her shock at how persistently hounding the photographers were.
The current visit comes after a short stop in Paris for the couple and their infant, as they are said to embark on more traveling in Israel, including the dead sea and parts of northern Israel, and are expected to leave by Monday.
