TYP Will Represent Israel at the MTV Europe Music Awards
The Young Professionals Ivri Lider and Johnny Goldstein, will represent Israel at the MTV EMA 2011 which will be held in Belfast on November 6. TYP was selected by the viewers of MTV Israel, who have been voting online during the High Holidays. TYP will represent Israel in the Worldwide Act category, and will also compete for the Best European Act Award, alongside artists from other European countries.
This is the 4th time that Israel has been represented at this award show, and the 2nd time for Ivri Lider, who represented Israel last year as a solo artist. The best results so far were brought by Shiri Maimon in 2008. She came up 3rd place in the category of Best European Act, claiming her fame from her 2005 successful Eurovision Song Contest performance.
“It’s great fun to represent Israel in this thing,” Lider told Mouse.co.il this week. “I want to thank everyone who voted for us. This year we’re competing against some serious artists.”
