In America, the new singing competition ‘The Voice’ with coaches Adam Levin and Christina Aguilera became a TV hit. Now, the British version of ‘The Voice’ kicks off on BBC One, starting this spring, and Abbanibi just learned that the Israeli Kochav Nolad alumni Chen Aharoni is going to audition in front of the British judges in the show.
Aharoni, whose duet with model Esti Ginzburg made it to #1 in Israel last year, started his professional career when he became the 3rd runner up on Kochav Nolad season 5,and recently had another top 3 hit with ‘Mami.’The connection with ‘The Voice’ was made when one of the show’s scouts saw Chen performing in a Festival in Portugal, and offered him an audition for the show. Chen expressed interest and flew to London, where he passed 3 auditions and is now waiting for the big audition, in front of the coaches of the show, on camera.
The coaches of ‘The Voice UK’ were announced earlier this year: International pop star Jessie J, who’s starting to become a hot name in America as well, Will I Am from ‘The Black Eyed Peas,’ Tom Jones and Danny O’Donoghue, the lead singer of the successful Brit band ‘The Script.’”It was a great experience for me to go there and pass three auditions,” Chen says. “I have aspirations for an international career, but I’m currently focusing on my audience in Israel. Nevertheless, it’s flattering that such professional people have expressed interest in me and my music.”
Good luck, Chen. We’re all gonna be watching!
