Lionsgate Entertainment Corporation has purchased production rights to Israeli single camera comedy series “Mitlahavet (loosely translated to ‘Enthusiastic’) from “Gil Productions” and channel 10. The show, which aired in 20120, revolves as a semi mockunmentary of main character actress Maya Dagan, as the storyline features animated flashbacks from her life, especially traumatic memories from her adolescence.
The show is a the latest in a crop of TV formats sold in recent years, this time to Lionsgate, whose TV department includes such high profile producions as “Weeds”, “Nurse Jackie” and the Emmy Award-winning “Mad Men”. An official statement by Channel 10, who’s going through a rough patch right now, says that “it is very encouraging that even through this tough times, the channel’s programming is still of great interest worldwide”.
