9/11 AUTHORS TALK

Sep 10 2012

WASHINGTON: The spiritually charged days between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur are called “The Ten Days of Repentance”–a time for deep introspection and personal change. The Washington, DC JCC will host authors Ari Schonbrun and Edie Lutnick, to share their inspiring, first-hand stories at 9/11: A Time For Change, on Wednesday, September 19 at 8:00 pm as part of the Authors Out Loud series and the Leo & Anna Smilow Center for Jewish Living and Learning Re-souling for the New Year series at the DCJCC, 1529 16th Street NW.

Ari Schonbrun, a Cantor Fitzgerald employee who changed his life after narrowly escaping death in the World Trade Center, reveals the power of creating meaningful connections that transcend differences in Miracles and Fate on ’78.

Edie Lutnick, co-founder and executive director of The Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund, turned her personal tragedy into an opportunity to repair the world, and has raised and distributed over 180 million dollars to over 800 families of 9/11 victims. Her book, An Unbreakable Bond: The Untold Story of How the 658 Cantor Fitzgerald Families Faced the Tragedy of 9/11 and Beyond, recounts her tale.
