“Go For Gaucher” 5K Walk/Run slated for Oct 14, Atlanta

ATLANTA: Approximately 1 in 450 people (far greater in the Ashkenazi Jewish population) have Gaucher (pronounced “go-shay”) disease, but the carrier rate among Ashkenazi Jews is even higher: 8.9%

The National Gaucher Foundation (NGF), in conjunction with Gaucher October Awareness Month, will hold its first 5K Walk/Run on Sunday, October 14, 2012, at Mason Mill Park, 1340 McConnell Drive, Decatur,GA. To raise awareness of Gaucher disease, “Go For Gaucher” is one of many events that will educate individuals about the symptoms, treatments and prevalence of Gaucher (Go‐Shay) disease, a debilitating and often fatal disease.
