‘Girls,’ Sex and the All New JAP

Character Shoshanna Shapiro (played by Zosia Mamet) on HBO’s ‘Girls’ must be the most famous Jewish character of the current TV season, and definitly marks a critical evolution of the Jewish American Princess stereotype. So yes, she still loves her clothes, her parentally funded apartment, and her Camp Ramah  memories, the new JAP wants (and talks about) sex more than anything else, she’s more committed to her professional career and more complicated
